The SIGRUN Show

May 25, 2018

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the EU is a controversial subject that I have discussed on my podcast several times. GDPR is a data privacy regulation that takes effect on May 25, 2018. It aims to protect the privacy of the people in the EU, but its impact is worldwide. This regulation is the start of a new beginning—it’s about the protection you receive as you provide and entrust your personal information to businesses and entrepreneurs.

In this episode, I share what GDPR is and debunk the top 10 most common lies about this new regulation. I explain what small business owners and online entrepreneurs really need to know to get compliant, what you should do regarding this regulation as a business owner, and what really happens when someone complains about your data privacy policy. I also explain the difference between having a Cookie Policy vs. using a Cookie Bar plugin, how to identify whether an offer is a bundle, and how GDPR affects and impacts business owners with clients in the EU.

“Transparency and no surprisesthat’s the hallmark of the new regulation.“ - Sigrun
